In order to evaluate the heat conduction coefficients, the light absorption coefficients and other plasma characteristics some theoretical models of matter were constructed: the Thomas–Fermi model, the Hartree–Fock–Slater model and others. But these models give less and less accurate results as the temperature decreases. Therefore the new quantum mechanical model of matter based on the self-consistent field method for ion ensemble is proposed. This model called “Ion model of matter” gives good agreement with experimental data.
