This report is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the famous Bulgarian mathe- matician and stochastician Professor Dr Sci Nikolay Yanev, with a brief description of his scientific path, his contributions in the field of stochastics and the creation of a school by his followers in the field of branching stochastic processes. Този доклад е посветен на 80-годишния юбилей на известния български мате- матик и стохастик професор дмн Николай Янев, с кратко описание на научния му път, приносите му в областта на стохастиката и създаването на школа от негови последователи в областта на разклоняващите се стохастични процеси.
