September 28, 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of Prof. Ivan Ganchev Donev’s death. Being the first post-graduate student, the first Doctor of Sciences and the first full professor in the field of Mathematics Education Methodology in Bulgaria, he is undoubtedly a person who left an extremely bright and lasting mark on science and education in our country. This article provides an extended chronological overview of his biography, his scientific works and other creative projects. Some personal memories of the authors from their joint work with him are also shared. На 28 септември 2022 г. се навършиха 10 години от кончината на проф. д.п.н. Иван Ганчев Донев. Бидейки първи зачислен аспирант, първи доктор на науките и първи професор в направлението Методика на обучението по математика в България, той несъмнено е личност, която остави изключително ярка и трайна следа в науката и в образованието у нас. В статията се описва в хронологичен ред развитието на преподавателя и изследователя проф. Иван Ганчев в областта на Методиката на обучението по математика. В отделните периоди от време накратко са коментирани някои публикации или негови дейности. Споделени са някои лични спомени на авторите от съвместната им работа с него.
