From the turtle to the python: the education of teachers in informatics and IT and the curriculum changes

In this paper we present a short retrospection of the main stages of teacher education in informatics and information technologies (IT) in Bulgaria. We start with the beginning, when Bulgaria was among the leaders in the field adopting active learning and knowledge-based education, where the Logo educational philosophy being the foundation, and the Turtle geometry – the most famous Logo microworld. After that we analyze the tendencies leading to massive compulsory education in IT in Bulgarian schools, and finally the current need to give basic knowledge and skills in programming to all young people. We show the last tendencies in teacher education in programming, with the broad usage of the Python language.
В тази статия предлагаме кратка ретроспекция на основните етапи, през които премина обучението на учители по информатика и информационни технологии (ИТ) в България. Започваме с началото, в което България беше завоювала добри позиции и световно признание благодарение на идеите за активно и предметнобазирано обучение, символ на които беше езикът Лого и неговата костенуркова графика. След това се анализират следващите тенденции, свързани с масовото обучение по ИТ в българските училища, и необходимостта от по-активно включване на обучението по програмиране като задължително изискване днес към младите хора. Показват се последните идеи в обучението по програмиране на учители, свързани с навлизането на езика Python.
