This work is devoted to the 75th anniversary of Academician Peter Popivanov’s birthday – a research scientist, one of the founders of the school of the differential equations in the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Here, we present some of P. Popivanov’s results which are a small part of his rich mathematical achievements in the area of differential equations. In addition, we would like to comment on his great interest in the philosophical ideas of Dostoevsky.
