Exitation of mobile discrete breathers in DNA initiated by disturbance of displacements or velocities in a small group of adjacent nucleotide pairs situated near the one of fixed ends of the molecule has been studied in a frame of the Peyrard–Bishop–Dauxois (PBD) model. It has been shown that a few number of particles should be disturbed to excite effectively the stable mobile breathers and that disturbances of displacements and velocities may be directed both towards the molecule's axis and away from the axis. A breather velocity increases but a breather frequency decreases with growth of initial energy of particles.
