An original authors' product is described in the paper. It is an open information system with a web interface Lobaria Lichen Area (LLA). The information system provides managing and visualizing the data on distribution of rare lichen Lobaria pulmonaria (L.) Hoffm. in Russia. Open source software was used to develop the information system. The information system consists of the database, local user application and web interface for data visualization through the interactive map. Results are available in the web-site http://www.lobaria.ru/?q=map.
