Comparative study of chemical composition of spring water in high mountain and the middle mountain zone of the KBR was held. Water springs of the mountain zone are characterized by higher concentrations of carbonates and calcium in comparison with springs of high mountain areas. The water of most springs is enriched with molybdenum, due to geochemical peculiarities of the region. The increased content of fluoride and chloride is observed in groundwaters which are connected to the Elbrus volcanic area.
Keywords: springs, heavy metals
