Long-term analysis of avalanche activity in some selected geosystems of southern part of Elbrus foothills region

The article examines the distribution and frequency of avalanches in the valley of the Baksan river (upper reaches) in the 150-year period. The distribution of avalanches is presented by individual avalanche catchment places. The frequency of avalanches was estimated on the basis of the analysis of snowfall in the winters. Characteristic is based on the years of avalanches’ descent.
