This white paper analyzes problems of the implementation of the data archiving systems using modern storage devices. The significant attention is paid to the challenges and the methods of the integration of the various types of the storage devices (including cloud storage, BluRay disks, modern magnetic tape devices, solid state disks, etc.) in a standard operating system environment. Article provides detailed analysis and functionality of the software modules to implement majority requirements of the modern data archiving systems.
