This paper presents an algorithm for regions extraction with corrupted ridge and valley structure. Several different approaches have been discussed in order to analyze its accuracy and running time versus proposed algorithm.
Keywords: fingerprint image quality estimation, block-wise classification, fingerprint recognition system.
