The article is devoted to several theorems concerning the comparison of solutions (§ 2); the theorems yield conditions for boundedness (§ 3), tendency to zero, and stability of the trivial solution (§ 4); positive solutions are identified (§ 5), equations with a constant retardation are studied (§ 6), and the asymptotic behavior of the solutions is investigated (§ 7).
