A new approach to the determination of permittivity and conductivity of the medium in a vicinity of a well having complex profile is proposed. An essential part of this approach is the use of a localized source in a small neighborhood of the selected point of the well and finding an approximate electromagnetic field in the neighborhood of this point. The found field is used to determine unknown parameters. The results of numerical experiments are presented.
