On the oscillation of the solutions to linear difference equations with variable delay

A new criterion for the oscillation of the solutions to linear difference equations with variable delay is established. This criterion is based on a new fundamental lemma, which provides a useful inequality for the nonoscillatory solutions of the delay difference equations considered.
