Numerical simulation of cavitational flow of fluid under gravity around a rotary body

A created algorithm to solve a problem of cavitational flow of fluid under the gravity around a rotary body is presented. If the direction of gravity coincides with the direction of a downward vertical flow, new laws of cavitational flows arise and caverns generated in this case are referred to vertical caverns. Negative cavitation numbers can appear in the vertical caverns, when the gas pressure in a cavern exceeds the static pressure of surrounding fluid, where jets come off the body. The generalized Ryabushinsky scheme is applied to simulate the flow numerically. The problem is solved with a method based on the potential of simple layer, which resolves itself to solving a set of integral equations. While solving, the cavern shape and the velocity structure in the fluid are defined versus the cavitation number and the Froude number. The relaxation method is used to define the cavern shape. As examples analyses for a disk and a cone are presented. The accuracy of calculations is evaluated, the analytical results are compared with experimental data.
