The development of masonry signifies an important chapter in the history of Jaśliska region, taking place intensively as early as 16th-17th century. It was made possible by the presence of przybyszowski sandstone in the area, mined through several centuries on Kamień mountain for its unique technical qualities and facility of tooling. It was used e.g. for construction of city walls of Jaśliska, parich church, stone shrines and wayside crosses, and cellars for wine storage. Moreover, Lipowiec and Czeremcha villages were once famous in Beskidy as centres of artistic stonecrafting, especially folk sculture. Presently unused quarries survived to this day as a part of historical building of Jaśliska, as well as small pieces of sacral architecture. The beginning of agricultural activity in this area is marked by fine-grained river sediments in terraces of Jasiółka and Bełcza rivers. Rock formations still present are important tourist attraction of the area, and demand more significant protection.
