Central elements of integral group rings

We study the centers of integral group rings. We introduce the concept of a class character ring and use it to describe the centers of integral groups rings. With each automorphism of a character field we associate the automorphism of the center of an integral group ring. We determine the norm of the central element of an integral group ring, which we use to obtain criteria for the invertibility of central elements.
