Nous donnons une estimation de la dimension de l'homologie rationnelle du groupe O n (Z[1 2]), en degré égal à la dimension cohomologique virtuelle, pour n grand. Ce calcul fournit une indication quantitative sur la « non-véracité » d'une conjecture de Quillen concernant la cohomologie modulo 2 de GL n (Z[1 2]).

We give an estimate of the dimension of the rational homology of the group O n (Z[1 2]), in degree equal to the virtual cohomological dimension, for n large. This provides a quantitative indication on the failure of a conjecture of Quillen about the modulo 2 cohomology of GL n (Z[1 2]).
